The Summer Bridge Program was designed in the summer of 1993 targeted at incoming freshmen students majoring in the STEM fields. The program objective is to assist in the transition from high school to the University of Houston, while preparing students to enter Calculus I and Chemistry I by their freshmen year. Students attending the Summer Bridge Program will take College Algebra and PreCalculus for credit (level determined by Math Placement Exam score). The program runs through the summer, and is offered free of charge to a limited number of students (based on available funding). Other courses include a Chemistry and Calculus I review.
